Zurich

With a population of some 363,000 inhabitants Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. It is located in the heart of Europe and is easily accessible by plane, train and car. Situated 409 meters (1340  ft) above sea level, Zurich borders the northern end of the Lake of Zurich. Its well-preserved Old Town is located on both banks of the River Limmat. The highest point of the city is called Uetliberg/Uto Kulm; 871 meters (2857 ft) above sea level. It is accessible by train or a one-hour hike and allows a beautiful view over the lake and the Swiss alps.

Weather

Zurich has a temperate climate, but often enjoys the warm, moisture-laden winds blowing from the Atlantic ocean. This results in a milder climate than its northern latitude of 47° might suggest. Temperatures in July range between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).
